Finding Pride’s One Year Anniversary
As I look back on the last year, that my first baby has been out in the world, I ask myself what I’ve learned. Honestly, I think there are too many to lists in one single blog post. But I wanted to highlight a few.
The first lesson I learned was how to be a better writer. For those of you who haven’t heard the story… I wrote Finding Pride shortly after my mother died from a terrible decease, Creutzfeldt-Jakob, in 2003. If you have ever lost someone close, you understand that I started questioning my life and how I want to leave my mark in this world. So, I reverted back to a childhood dream of being a writer. I think I always knew that I wanted to write romantic suspense books. My first try, when I was in 5th grade, was a spoof off of Moonlighting the show.
The second thing I’ve learned or gain was an enormous amount of support. It’s been heart warming and has helped me through a few rough patches as a writer. I’ve made so many new friends and have met some wonderful people. I’m truly blessed. After putting up my 3rd book, Returning Pride, I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride. In a short span of five months I released seven books. Whew!
I was lucky enough to bring my family full time into my crazy world. My husband has designed all my wonderful book covers, promotions, and my beautiful website. He’s there to help me work through some of my story lines and plots, and even my teenage sons get into the mix and throw out ideas.
The one person I’ve had since the beginning of this journey, is my twin sister Jody. Without her… I would have never put Finding Pride up a year ago today. She encouraged me to step off the ledge and take a chance. She’s been there, plotting with me through every book, helping me fine tune my thoughts and characters. I can’t thank her enough.
As I move forward with my writing career, my dreams are to bring smiles, laughter, a few tears, and maybe a few on the edge of your seat moments.
Thank you for your support and I truly hope you enjoy reading my stories.
All my best
